A Savoury sin – A scrambler based on Yamaha FZ “SatSin05”

In current times, the FZ has become an immensely popular bike, due to its reliability, low running costs and peppy nature, also not to mention the fuel efficiency of the bike. This is largely due to the cheap cost of the spares, a wide network of service centers and easy availability of the spares.

Maratha Customs, Mumbai, realized the potential of the peppy FZ and decided to work on the bike. Named as the SatSin05, the bike now dons a new avatar of a custom scrambler.

Maratha started by ripping out the original look and doing away with it completely including the body panels and the fuel tank. Once the frame was naked, the customizer decided to fortify the chassis further.

Since the bike would be doing some serious time off the road. To compensate for the hammering that the bike was to receive, the front forks and the rear suspension were custom made. This was done with an intention to add some significant travel to the suspensions. To aid the handling of the bike, the handlebar also has been custom made in order to make it astuter.

The engine of the bike has been tuned for more power. The headlight assembly now sports a vertically stacked pair of Led, which are offset on one side with the name of the bike on the other side. The exhaust is custom made and fitted to the bike which is hand made bent exhaust pipe which turns and ends under the seat with a conical cap. This clean tailpiece meant that the registration plate had to be accommodated somewhere else, which now sits on a custom plate on the swingarm.

Once done with the forks, the bike was then beautified with a custom fuel tank, which now is angular, muscular and has been hand made specifically to add bulk to the bike. Doused in a purple shade, the bike is purely a scrambler with a brawny look. The rest of the frame has been intentionally kept exposed to give a more mechanical and minimalistic look. To add further to the looks, the paint scheme is done with custom Dupont shade and has been done with an airbrush, complete with a clear coat.

The bike is a perfect amalgamation of modern buffed up bike with the scrambler.
