I loved motorcycle ever since I was a kid- much like a lot of Indian boys. I started riding when I was thirteen years old ( I had to tip-toe to support the bike) there is something special about riding. It’s hard to explain. When you saddle up, grab that handlebar and start the fire, its as if your soul gets wings. From that point on, the world’s freedom takes on a whole new meaning. Once you discover riding, you begin to see things differently. There was life before you learned to ride and then there is life after. It is such a life-changing experience.
I started with my dad’s ‘Rajdoot’ before moving on to ‘Yezdi’, ‘Yamaha’, and ‘Royal Enfield’. At the time, the biggest piece of electronics you could find on a bike was a horn. These bikes were as raw as and as strong as the iron they were cast from. Every warrior needs chariot – all his own. So, every single rupee that I could save was spent on modifying the gas tank, port the engine, exhaust system, handlebars and paint job of my motorcycles. This self-expression was my way of saying that my rides are as unique as my DNA. In 2006 Vega choppers (now known as Vega customs) were born out of this need to stand out and be counted.
I started building choppers on Royal Enfield for my friends in Mangalore, India. With the artistic vision and upgrading the aerodynamics ergonomically, I now specialize in modifying the existing cycles, as well as hand, build them from scratch. I do not make copies of my own work, so when you get a custom motorcycle from me, its truly like no other.
I start the design process by working with the owner who wants his ride customized. This process ensures that the final product is a true reflection of the owner’s vision. Some of my inspirational styles come from Retro, Old School, Bobber, Chopper, Brat, Cafe Racer, Tracker, Softail, Sportster Tradition. I believe that when a man and his machine become one, nothing else matters.
